VOLUNTEERING
There are many opportunities within the organization to support the resettled refugee community and the city of Cleveland as a whole. Primarily, we are looking for volunteers in two of our initiatives: the Home Mentoring Program and REAP. More information can be found below concerning each program and how volunteers can get involved.
HOME MENTORING PROGRAM

The Refugee Response Home Mentoring Program connects volunteers with resettled refugee families to provide one-on-one tutoring, ESL coaching, and mentorship. Volunteer mentors are uniquely paired with a refugee student in grades K-12 and spend two hours a week over the course of a year to strengthen literacy and math skills, provide opportunities to explore community and culture, and empower students to succeed academically and in daily life. Our volunteers play a critical role in helping these families feel welcome in their new home and more connected with the community, institutions, and resources that surround them.

THE OHIO CITY FARM

The Ohio City Farm provides employment and job skills training to recently resettled refugees with an existing agricultural skill-set. Volunteers with the farm will be providing hands-on work alongside our farm team, including weeding, harvesting, CSA and restaurant order preparation, bed building, and general cleanup. The Ohio City Farm is a friendly, rewarding work environment with plenty of camaraderie and hard work! In return for their generous service, volunteers receive heaps of gratitude and delicious veggie benefits.
